Finish - Special Effect Topper
Collection - Satins
Colour - Gold
Topcoat - No

Maria-Luisa by Zoya can be best described as gold cellophane accent topper (Originally designed for Rafael Cennamo/AW13).

So I decided as this was a topper I'd pop it over a couple of different colours, so I've gone for white, black, blue and a deep maroon plus a naked nail so you can see the effect.

This has a very good formula, the flakies spread out well and you get a good amount on your brush without it being base heavy. I believe you can get this opaque by sponging it on. The second pic shows that this polish likes to settle but a good shake and shes all good, I have a few Zoya that settle.

Amber is a discontinued polish and described as a soft gold frost metallic with strong amber-orange undertones and fine yellow gold shimmer.

This is such an interesting colour, its very orange toned but not enough to be kept with the oranges. Good formula, no running or pooling, just sheer and so I needed three coats.  This is still available on Nail Polish Direct in the UK.

Lyric by Zoya can be best described as a warm peach with orange and terracotta undertones and soft gold and champagne shimmer.

A gorgeous peachy gold, good formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats, this also stamps, probably best over a darker colour. This does have some brush strokes but not bad.

Austine by Zoya can be best described as a soft pale gold metallic frost with subtle light orange and peach tones flecked with fine silver shimmer.

I dont know that I see the silver shimmer but its a stunning colour, good formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats, if I was in a hurry I could get away with one. This gives me copper vibes. I think I should have stamped it over black as well, the photo is so dark as it wasnt showing up under my LED light.

Wait until you see the other polishes from this collection, theyre stunning and its one of my favourite collections, all very unique colours. Check out the last pic.

Hermina by Zoya can be best described as a pale golden-beige frost with silvery metallic highlight.

You'll notice my bottle says Hernina, ah Zoya, does love a misspelling moment.

This is a gorgeous pale gold, good formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats, this does have brush strokes but they go as you can see in the third pic as thats in normal light, the second pic is taken under my LED light which exaggerates the brush strokes. This also stamps, think I should have do the stamp over black though.

Ziv by Zoya can be best described as a full coverage, yellow-toned metallic gold foil with silver highlights and warm gold flake glitter accents.

This is the sparkliest most delicious gold ever, this has a great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats, however, clean up is a bugger as those little golden sparkles stick to everything! I hope you can see the silver sparkles in this, its not just a straight up gold.

Does it stamp - No
Name - Severine
Year - 2018

Coats - 2
Finish - Metallic
Collection - Classic
Colour - Gold
Topcoat - No

Severine was a limited edition mini that was available with purchase on the US site in winter 2018, its a pale golden yellow. The UK website never offers minis or extras as far as I am aware.  I wasnt sure if I should post pics of this one but its in my collection and I said I'd swatch everything, I have a couple more mini limited editions and a mini set of the original colourful matte velvets to share.

This is the cutest mini and Zoya minis are the best value as they're exactly half the size of their normal bottles at 7.5ml. The brush in the mini bottle is the same size as the normal bottle just on a shorter stem.  OPI minis are 3.75ml in comparison which is barely enough for two manicures.

This has a great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats. This is a bit brush strokey too, its the nature of a metallic. The first swatch pic under my LED light and the second is kinda in natural light, I think it shows the colour slightly better.

A Zoya A Day - Brooklyn

 Hey friends

Today you get two posts!!

Available on the UK website - No

Does it stamp - No
Name - Brooklyn
Year - 2014
Number - ZP0725
Coats - 3
Finish - Metallic
Collection - Awaken
Colour - Gold
Topcoat - No

Brooklyn by Zoya can be best described as a full-coverage, white-gold shimmer metallic.

Oddly in the colour family they list this as yellow not gold? This is another great neutral, great formula, no running or pooling and opaque in 3 coats, if you didnt mind visible nail line you're good in 2 coats.  This does show brush strokes as you can see, you could always sponge on the last coat to avoid those.

A Zoya A Day - Nahla

Hey friends

Well this tells you I wasnt with it, I totally forgot to do this blog post after Cindy.

Today on the blog we meet Nahla

Name - Nahla
Year - 2018
Number - ZP0951
Coats - 2
Finish - Iridescent topper
Collection - Sunshine 2018
Colour - Gold
Topcoat - No

Zoya in Nahla can best be described as a buildable, golden iridescent-holo topper with hints of multi-colored glitter with mega hex particles.

This is so versatile, you can build it up to opacity in 3 coats or wear it as a topper over other coats, good formula, no running or pooling, I did 2 coats on its own and one coat over black.

The last photo shows Cindy on the left and Nahla on the right, as you can see Cindy is paler and has those medium hex iridescent glitters, Nahla has bigger shimmer particles and those large hexes.

A Zoya A Day - Buffy

 Hey friends

Well I've been taking Baclofen since Friday and thankfully it seems to be working, its making me a bit dizzy but I'd rather dizzy than pain, its also making me sleep much better, I just have to be careful getting up as moving quickly makes the dizzy worse.

Today on the blog we meet Buffy

Colour - Gold
Topcoat - No

Buffy is a discontinued polish and described as a soft pale gold metallic frost with subtle light orange and peach tones flecked with fine silver shimmer. A softer way to wear gold.

This is such a pretty colour, good formula, no running or pooling, although there are brush strokes, I think the Z wide brush might help with that. From some angles this looks opaque.

A Zoya A Day - Sue

 Hey friends

Happy Friday, sadly I'm still struggling with pain, the diazepam only worked for a very short time so I've been given baclofen to see if we can stop my neck and shoulders from seizing and causing the pain. The other issue is that for someone with chronic migraine if we take too many painkillers, now I'm not talking about taking 3 or more cocodamol once or twice, but if say I took two cocodamol every day for five days I could go into whats known as a medication overuse headache also known as a rebound headache, which doesnt sound so bad, however, what that means is that when I do then take more painkillers they actually make the pain worse, in order to break that cycle I'd have to go cold turkey without any kind of pain med not even ibuprofen or aspirin for probably a month or more, for someone with chronic migraine that is my worse nightmare because most days I am in pain, be it migraine or arthritis.

A link to the NHS website on MOH - Rebound Heahache Info

Anyway, enough with the pain, we're here for the pretty polish.

Sue by Zoya can be best described as a soft champagne gold with a multi-hued oyster shell pearl fleck in the traditional Matte Velvet finish.

This polish is stunning, its one of my fav golden neutrals as you can wear it matte or pop a topcoat on and it brings out the tiny sparkles.

Great formula, no running or pooling, probably I should have put a third coat on but sadly I cannot bend my head anymore today.

The last photo shows topcoat over my middle fingers and a close up shot of my thumb without topcoat which I hope shows off all that sparkle, so pretty.

Colour - Gold

Cindy is a discontinued polish from Zoya, she can be described as a golden micro glass fleck shimmer with larger  iridescent glitters.

This is very pretty, I dont think I've worn this on its own before, I quite like it, its a cool look, this has a good formula, no running or pooling, I did two coats, I think if you wanted it to be opaque you'd need a third.

So obviously there were no posts from me on Monday or Tuesday, thats because I was confined to bed with one of the worse migraine attacks I've ever had, I was crying with the pain, I scared my husband so badly he told me if the doc couldnt help he was taking me to A&E. Thankfully the doc gave me diazepam which relaxed my muscles enough for the painkillers to work. I dont know what I've done but I wake up in pain most nights with my neck and shoulders which then shots the pain into my head, when I get my botox I get extra injections down the back of my neck and along the ridge line of my shoulders.  Today I feel vaguely more human now I just have my usual nausea. plus the great news is I have my botox appointment on 8 September!!

Elaine by Zoya can be best described a dark, umber brown cream.

This one you can see the umber undertone in the first coat but then once you throw on that second its a deep dark brown, good formula, no running or pooling, opaque in two coats and stamps really well where you can see the umber tones.

I am so glad we are done with the browns! Next week we're going to head into the golds, silvers, greys and blacks :)

Coats - 2
Finish - Cream

Colour - Brown
Topcoat - No

Nina by Zoya can be best described as a warm, rich chocolate brown creme with subtle red tones.

This is a really pretty dark brown, again its almost but not quite black, when you do the first coat you can see those red undertones for sure but once you apply the second coat they disappear.  Good formula, no running or pooling and opaque in two coats, also stamp very well and if you look at the stamp you can see those red tones come out.

When I got out of the shower this morning,  Obi decided he wanted some fussing, so I happily obliged, I got a full stretched out panther who got belly rubs and then he decided I needed a love bite lol he wrapped his paws round my wrist and put his mouth on my arm, he was very gentle indeed, not like Tom my old tabby boy who would give you a right nip.  Pics of the naughty panther :)
