Fancy Gloss Prototype 3 with Plaid/Tartan stamping

Happy rainy Tuesday!

Today on the blog I have a lush thermal from Fancy Gloss with added tartan/plaid stamping to share with you.

I started with two coats of Prototype 3 a lush coral (cold) to apple green (warm) thermal, this was opaque in the cold state on the first coat but in the warm I still had a tiny bit of visible nail line so I added a second coat, great formula no running or pooling.

I then grabbed Pretty in Plaid stamping plate from Uberchic and using my Big Bling stamper from Clear Jelly Stamper added some plaid, I used Sally Hansen Sonic Bloom which as I hoped was a perfect match when my hands where cold but showed up beautifully when they were warm. I do love hidden stamping :) the Fancy Gloss dries matte, I added my usual Barry M Plumpy topcoat over the stamping then Barry M Matte topcoat over that.

Zoya Vesper

Hey there, happy Thursday!

Today on the blog I have a gorgeous purple to share with you, meet Vesper!

A Zoya a Day
Name - Vesper
Year - 2019
Number - ZP1010
Coats - 1
Finish - Creme
Collection - Sensual
Colour - Purple/Grey/Blue
Topcoat - Matte topcoat

Wow, look at this gorgeous colour, its purple, grey and blue all in one, another very cool colour from Zoya, seriously does anyone know how they do this? Please excuse the tip wear in the matte shot I took it after a lot of house work and typing.

This is Midnight Obsidian aka Obi, he's a rescue we adopted on Sunday the 8th September 2019. Hes a bit skitty but getting better, we're letting him decide on how far he wants to explore at the minute, he's accidentally met Rosie under our bed but there was no hissing or puffy tails, just a sniff and then they went to opposite ends of the bed.

Zoya Joss and Plaid/Tartan Nail Art

Hey there

Today on the blog meet Joss and I have some tartan/plaid nail art to share with you :)

A Zoya a Day
Name - Joss
Year - 2019
Number - ZP1001
Coats - 2
Finish - Creme
Collection - Sensual
Colour - Pink/Nude
Topcoat - None

I love plaid aka tartan nails, I started with my usual two coats of Zoya Anchor basecoat, then I did 2 coats of Joss, excuse the messy swatch but I knew I was stamping so I didnt clean up prior to stamping, great formula, no running or pooling and almost opaque in one coat on my short nails. I then grabbed the three purples from the new Sensual collection which are (L to R in their pic) Ripley, Micheala and Vesper.  I used Uberchic Pretty in Plaid plate and my Big Bling stamper from Clear Jelly Stamper, as you can see they stamped really well, I then grabbed Fab Ur Nails Fun 21 plate and did some marble stamping on my thumbs, I then topped everything with Barry M Plumpy topcoat then Barry M Matte topcoat.

Also how come Joss is more mannequin hands matte than shiny?

I think they turned out great :) now I wish I could find a shirt with this colour combo!

Zoya Sensual Fall Collection 2019

Hi

Today on the blog I have comparisons of the new Zoya Fall/Autumn Sensual Collection.

This is a picture heavy post.

A couple of things to note before we start, all pictures were taken in direct sunlight until Etta when the sun moved away from my window, these are my choices for what I thought were the closest matches, if you'd like to see another comparison let me know and if I have the polish I will do that comparison. The new polish is always first left and I thought that putting the swatch stick with the bottle shot would show you if the polish dries darker than the bottle, which some of them do.

I've tested  Ripley and Briar and they both stamp too.

So without further waffling lets go!

Left to Right
Joss
Avril
Addison

No dupes, in the bottle Joss looks very similar to Avril but on the swatch you can see that Joss has a browner undertone than Avril and is lighter than Addison.

L to R
Kinsley
Jill
Mary

No dupes, Kinsley is close to Jill in the bottle but on the swatch you can see that the undertone is yellower on Kinsley and Mary has that purple undertone.

L to R
Foster
Dea
Mary

No dupes, Foster is deeper than Dea and Mary has a purple undertone.

L to R
Briar (stamps)
Liza
Monroe

No dupes, Briar has a much browner undertone than Liza who has an almost orange undertone and Monroe is very pink.

L to R
Margaret
Renee
America

This was tricky, very close in the bottle and I dont know if my photo shows it but America is brighter than Renee and Margaret, Renee is also a shade or two lighter than Margaret. Reds like these are always hard as your naked eye picks up much more subtle changes.

L to R
Rashida
Elisa
Ember
Blair

No dupes, Rashida is much more deep and bold than either Elisa or Ember and Blair has a much more purple vibe.

L to R
Etta
Blair
Colbie (discontinued)
Rihana

No dupes, Etta is deeper then Blair, Colbie has a brown undertone and Rihana has a much more red undertone.

L to R
Ripley (stamps)
Margo
Haven

No dupes, Ripley has more blue than Margo and Haven has even more blue than Ripley.

L to R
Michaela
Neeka
Lotus

No dupes, I have absolutely nothing like Michaela, shes purple in some lights and greyer in others, utterly unique and stunning!.

L to R
Vesper
Violet (discontinued)
Monica

No dupes, Vesper has this whole grey/blue undertone and I have nothing close, another stunning unique one.

L to R
Elliot
Natty
Ryan

No dupes, Natty is a grey blue, Ryan is pure French Navy and Elliot has a green undertone.

L to R
Ashton
Theo
Storm

No dupes, I have nothing close to Ashton, oddly Storm looks the most similar on the swatch sticks but shes a black scattered holo.

So there you have it, my comparisons on the Sensual collection for Fall/Autumn 2019 from Zoya.

Zoya London and Juniper

Happy Friday!

Today on the blog I have two of Zoya#s textured polishes to share with you, meet London and Junpier :)

A Zoya a Day
Name - London
Year - 2013
Number - ZP661
Coats - 2
Finish - Pixie Dust
Collection - Spring Pixie Dust
Colour - Grey
Topcoat - None

A Zoya a Day
Name - Juniper
Year - 2018
Number - ZP974
Coats - 1
Finish - Pixie Dust
Collection - Jubilee
Colour - Teal/Green
Topcoat - None

Zoya pixie dusts are a textured finish polish, Zoya did different versions, the original style was very small grit texture they then did ultra pixie dusts, these having a much larger glitter particle in them with a much rougher texture, then there were magical pixie dusts, these were like a mix between the two, with slightly bigger particles than a normal pixie dust but not as big as the ultra pixie dusts.

The pixie dusts are ment to be worn without base or top coat, however, I always advise wearing basecoat to protect your nails from staining. While they are textured they dont remove like a glitter!

Both London and Juniper are the original small grit formula.

London is described as a fog grey with a sugared sparkle, this was opaque in two coats, no running or pooling. The manicure shot is the most colour accurate, a lovely lighter grey with silver sparkle shinning through.

Juniper is described as a sparkling teal with a subtle purple/green flash, formula was perfect with no running or pooling and opaque in one sweet coat.

I love a pixie dust for durability and also they are very quick to throw on, they work amazingly for toes too.

Left to Right Levi (Original), Bar (Magical) and Thea (Ultra), hopefully you can see the differences in the bottle.
