Fancy Gloss Grape Limeade with stamping

Today on the blog I have Grape Limeade to share with you.

Grape Limeade is a thermal polish that when cold is a deep burgundy with a pink shimmer, when hot its a vivid lime green and the shimmer fades away, this also has a warm colour of a deep forest green but I just could not capture that today, the temp is 27 degrees Celsius which is 80 degrees Fahrenheit, very not usual for the UK.

So I started with two sweet coats of Grape Limeade then I stamped using Fab Ur  Nails plate Fun 21 which has lots of cool designs. I used Zoya Riley (Red) and Hunter (green) plus Virago Varnish No More S'mores to stamp the splatter and marble designs on, then I topped it all off with Barry M Plumpy topcoat.  I'm still debating if I should put a matte topcoat over the stamping........

I'm totally loving how these turned out :) fourth pic down which shows the cold state I had to stick my hand in a basin of cold water :)

Zoya Colette and Louise

Hey Guys

Today on the blog I have the amazing Colette and Louise to share with you.

I started with two sweet easy coats of Colette who had the perfect formula, no running or pooling and no brush strokes either. Then I decided to stamp using Louise and Powder Perfect plate Egypt 1, plus I also used Models Own Chrome Gold for the cats, one of whom ended up with no ears, not sure how that happened! Lastly I popped matte topcoat on my left hand :)

Zoya Keira

Today on the blog I have the stunning Kiera to share with you.

This one is soo pretty, a real stunner, its the perfect nude for the office if you arnt allowed to wear colour.

As you can see from the bottle this has a strong copper shimmer, but oi vey she also has ugly bottle syndrome :(, however, the polish looks utterly stunning on the nail its like a creamy coffee with that copper shimmer standing out beautifully.  Perfect formula no running or pooling and opaque in two sweet coats. I also wanted to see what this would look like matte so popped a coat of Barry M Matte topcoat over my middle two fingers and ah so pretty.

So I did two coats of both of these and they are stunning, I was very lucky to pick up Lisa from Backstage Riccione which is an Italian site that has quite a few older Zoya polishes.

I then decided to stamp using Models Own Chrome Copper and Mundo De Unas plate YF272 which has come gorgeous designs on it, although I think I'm going to have to file my nails down, theyve never been so long and its all thanks to my gel overlays!

I cant wait to do a Christmas mani with Lisa, she is that perfect ribbon shade.

Zoya Dacey and Lindsay

Happy Thursday!

Its almost the weekend and its the British Grand Prix weekend.

Today I have a gorgeous pink creme and a pink topper to share with you.

I started with two coats of Dacey, gorgeous pink, formula was perfection, opaque in 2 coats and no running or pooling.

Then I added one coat of Lindsay over my middle fingers and thumbs, I think I could get this opaque on its own as you can see in the bottle shot the swatch stick has three coats, formula is good on this no running or pooling.

Zoya Kate and Liza

Happy Tuesday

I think my new botox is finally kicking in!

today I have a pair of almost one coaters.

Coats - 2
Finish - Creme

Colour - Pink/Brown

Coats - 2
Finish - Creme
Collection - Barefoot
Colour - Pink/Red
Topcoat - None

Liza is from the new Barefoot collection for Summer and she is a very unusual pinky red but it has a hint of brown undertone I think, perfect formula, it was a one coater except for a very minor bald spot which I created on my ring finger, so I did 2 coats, no running or pooling.

Miss Kate is one of those weird Zoya colours, its a combo of pink and brown but I cant tell if its a pink with a brown undertone or a brown with a pink undertone. The formula was perfection, again no running or pooling and opaque in one coat but I mucked up my middle nail and created a bald spot so had to do two coats.

Zoya Z Wide Brush

Hey Guys

Happy Monday

Today on the blog I thought I'd talk about the Zoya Zwide brush and why its not possible to pick the brush you want at checkout, at the moment.

Below from left to right is the evolution of the Zoya bottle and cap shape,

Tosca - Early 1990's original bottle shape
Giselle - Early 2000's bottle, note the change of bottle shape
Liza - The final change to the lettering and removal of the gold band
Blu - The white dot on the lid means I changed the brush to the Zwide one.

Zoya have their brushes and caps made by a company in Spain, that cap and brush hasn't changed very much in all the time Zoya has been around, the only  change in fact is the removal of that gold band

So now we come to the issue, you can see that the caps of the original brush and the Zwide brush are identical, so in the factory when they're making the polish and assembling the bottle and brush together, how do they tell the brushes apart?

The answer is they cant (at the moment), plus the expense of changing the cap design even slightly to differentiate between the Zwide and the original could likely be expensive.

Heres a very cool video of the polish being put into the bottles and the cap and brush assembly going together. If youre wondering about the colour its the stunning Rayne.

How do you then budget for who will want the Zwide brush and who will want the original? When Zoya did their own survey the results were pretty much split 50/50, I for one love the original brush because I have really small hands and nail beds. So I say they're doing the brush the best way for them at the moment, maybe one day they'll modify the Zwide cap to be slightly different and they'll run two production lines one for the original brush and one for the Zwide.

Below is a pic showing the size of my wedding ring next to a UK penny plus my ring finger nail. Tiny nails!.
